This course is offered at no cost.1 The course is conducted via an online format through recorded lectures and activities. Progression through the course is self-paced and there is no live attendance requirement.

The course is divided into 7 modules, each with a brief introductory video. Divided amongst the modules are 52 core lectures which are each associated with a case study or post-lecture activity. The course syllabus, videos, handouts, case studies, and other material will be posted to the participant website.

Although not required 2, each registered participant to expected to take the online final exam, which consists of 25-50 multiple choice questions. Participants are permitted to use course materials during the final exam.

An electronic Certificate of Completion is awarded to each registered participant who achieves a score of 70% or higher on the final exam.

There is no academic or continuing medical education (CME) credit offered for this course 3.

General Information
1 There is a cost associated with the course for NIH employees taking this course through FAES for FAES credit. Please check the FAES website for more information in their catalog of courses.
2 The final exam is not required for participants who are NOT enrolled in the course through FAES. FAES participants must successfully pass a separate proctored final exam for credit. FAES participants will receive clear instructions through syllabi that is sent to FAES participants only.
3 FAES participants who successfully pass the proctored final exam and any other activities outlined in the FAES - PCP syllabi will be awarded both a certificate of completion and FAES credits.

There is no required textbook for this course. For participants interested in additional learning, the Atkinson's Principles of Clinical Pharmacology 4th edition book edited by Shiew-Mei Huang, Juan J.L. Lertora, Paolo Vicini, and Arthur J. Atkinson, Jr. is available through most online bookstores.
